Absolute Batman #17 dropped yesterday (2/18/2026) and it is already feeling like one of the biggest issues of the run so far — the official debut of Absolute Poison Ivy! 🌿🦇
Scott Snyder and Eric Canete absolutely crush it. Three stories weave together perfectly and the whole thing just hits different. 5/5 easy.
The Setup
Batman steps into Poison Ivy’s lair while her backstory flashes in and out. At the same time, Bruce is struggling hard in his “normal” life — trying to reconnect with old friends like Penguin and Two-Face isn’t going great. 🐧

The Cool Parts
- Batman has become a full-on hero of the people — merchandise everywhere you look.
- Poison Ivy’s research is mixing plant and human DNA in some seriously complicated (and creepy) ways.
- The reveals tease some wild results years down the line.
Friends are disappearing left and right and the tension is building like crazy.
Final Verdict
The issue doesn’t wrap up Poison Ivy’s full origin or the present-day story — it’s a perfect cliffhanger that has me dying for #18. Absolute Poison Ivy is scary, smart, and already one of the best new takes in the Absolute line.
