I just read Bleeding Hearts #3, which came out this past week (4/8/2026), and it’s another very interesting issue. We pick up exactly where #2 left off and the world-building keeps getting deeper.

The Setup
The story continues with our main zombie character and the human mom and daughter from the previous issue. We learn that zombies literally can’t understand humans — to them it just sounds like screeching. There’s even a little zombie council meeting where they debate whether humans have higher thought at all.

The Interesting Parts
- The zombie parts continue to be the most interesting — our main zombie character is trying to help the humans while the rest of the zombies start picking up their trail.
- The humans are still very distrustful and trying to get away, which builds up a lot of tension about who’s going to get caught and what’s going to go wrong.
- We get some nice little hints at more (potentially heart-wrenching) backstory for the humans and (perhaps foreshadowing) where people might be living now to stay protected.
- The mom is slowly coming to terms with the idea that this zombie might actually be helping them, even though it doesn’t make sense.
- The kid remains very trusting, which adds another layer to the dynamic.
- Some really cool world-building drops keep coming, and the suspense is building nicely.
Final Verdict
This is another strong issue in the series. Deniz Camp is still killing it (or bringing it to life) with the world-building and the way he balances the zombie and human perspectives. It’s fascinating to see the story from the zombies’ side of the apocalypse. I’m definitely still hooked and looking forward to #4.
