Absolute Batman: Ark M just dropped (1/7/26) and it’s a fantastic stand-alone special that dives deep into the dark origins of Arkham Asylum. Snyder, Tieri, and the team absolutely crush it again.

The Setup
This one-shot tells the tragic story of Amadeus Arkham and how the asylum was built as a warning. We get the full heartbreaking backstory — his mother snapping, violent acts, and his orphan upbringing. It all leads to the creation of the facility for the criminal insane.

The Cool (and Dark) Parts
- Ominous Joker-like figures and exaggerated smiles weave through the story in a creepy way.
- Cool historical tie-ins – Jack the Ripper.
- Foreshadows future villains like Absolute Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane), Absolute Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley), and Absolute Deathstroke.
- The art and cover are beautiful and perfectly ominous — it sets the tone perfectly for the Absolute universe.
- Intriguing stand alone story.

Final Verdict
This is a must-read one-shot for any Absolute Batman fan. The storytelling is dark, impactful, and really adds depth to the Arkham lore. Hands down another 5/5 from the Absolute line.
