I just read Absolute Batman #19 that came out today (4/15/28). Snyder and team — THEY DO NOT MISS. People are just not ready for this one. There are so many incredible moments, tiny and big. Superbly done.

The Setup
We open with a glimpse of Scarecrow and a mini side story that’s pretty crazy and intense. Then we come back to Batman after everything that’s happened. He’s fully dug in now — no more distractions, no more friends, just super efficient and locked in on the mission.

The Cool (and Brutal) Parts
- Pennyworth is back from MI6 and helping Batman on the ground.
- Harley Quinn is on comms, which adds a fun new dynamic.
- Waylon (Croc) is actually improving, but Bruce still doesn’t want his help following the self-exploration he went through in the Poison Ivy arc.
- We get some flashbacks to what happened after the Waylon fight in the past — Bruce ending up in jail and maybe working for Falcone. Those flashbacks feel like they are building solid backstory while giving us a break, or helping to build, story tension.
- Absolute Joker is out there being beloved and doing work around the city – creating a city that loves both Batman and the Joker at the same time — briefly.
- We get an interesting encounter with Gordon. Absolutely wild.
- Batman gets what looks like his first glimpse at Absolute Scarecrow, alluding to his part in the chaos.
- By the end, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke announces they’re done with creatures of the night… he’s built a whole team of Robins (Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, Jason Todd, Duke Thomas, Dick Grayson). This is massive.
The artist is spot on the entire issue. Almost every page feels epic.

Final Verdict
This is another epic issue in what continues to be one of the best runs in the Absolute line. The Robin team reveal alone is huge, and the way the story balances the small personal moments with the big picture is fantastic. I’m giving it a full 5/5.
